Goals of the Foundation Regarding Donations

Support the Centennial Foundation to ensure the long-term sustainability of Centennial Academy and enable it to continue providing an inclusive and innovative educational environment for students with learning difficulties in Quebec.

Ways to Contribute:

Every donation, large or small, is important to the Foundation. Thank you for supporting our mission to provide exceptional education to students with learning challenges. Tax receipts will be issued for donations of $25 and above.

You also have the option to make a donation of flow-through shares via PearTree, which allows you to reduce your after-tax donation cost to less than 2%. Exceptionally, PearTree is accepting minimum donations of $25,000 instead of $35,000 for Centennial Academy this year.

Donating stocks is an alternative to cash donations. If the stocks are listed on a designated stock exchange, the Foundation will issue an official receipt based on their fair market value at the time of the donation. For stocks not listed on a designated exchange, the fair market value rules may apply.

Donor Rights

Since 1969, Centennial Academy has been transforming the lives of its students.

Every day, we provide our young learners with a stimulating, safe, and supportive learning environment tailored to their needs. Here, they discover their strengths, gain confidence in their abilities, and learn to surpass their limits, surrounded by passionate and caring teachers and support staff.

When we had to find new premises after the Montreal English School Board reclaimed the lease, we faced an enormous challenge: renovating a heritage building in the middle of the COVID 19 pandemic. In 2020, the Grand Séminaire de Montréal became our new home, a unique space where every area was thoughtfully designed to inspire our students and spark their curiosity, despite exceptional circumstances.

The costs of this renovation were high and added to the challenge of receiving government funding for only half of the school, the English sector. In 2024 2025, these financial challenges were so significant that the school even faced the risk of closing.

But there is hope. Thanks to the unwavering support of our community and a strong consortium of foundations, we have been able to continue our mission and provide our students with the stability they need to thrive and succeed.

Today, your support can make all the difference. It allows us to:

  • Strengthen our services and enrich the educational experience so every student feels understood and supported
  • Adapt our facilities to meet the specific needs of our students, ensuring that everyone can learn under the best possible conditions
  • Create an endowment fund to guarantee the school’s financial stability and ensure the sustainability of our mission

Every gift changes lives. It helps our students gain the tools, confidence, and values they need to push themselves, flourish, and build a strong and promising future. Thanks to you, they can dream big and believe in their dreams.

Together, let us transform the future of our students.

Five-million-dollar investment

Launched in 2018, the Centennial Foundation capital campaign, The Future of Education Stars Here has set a goal to raise 5 million dollars. With almost 56% of the goal raised, we invite you to join our worthy cause and contribute to the success of the campaign – and in the success of tomorrow’s industry leaders.

This new space will provide our students with a more mission-aligned learning environment and will allow us to enhance and expand our programs and services. Plus, we now have the room to accommodate many more students who will benefit from our proven and unique learning approach.
