Student Life

All students want to learn, enjoy school life, be respected, accepted, and prepared for success.

A MEMORY-FILLED HIGH SCHOOL EXPERIENCE FOCUSED ON ACADEMIC SUCCESS, MUSIC, ART AND ATHLETICS

Centennial provides a safe space where students learn to find joy in learning.

They learn how to learn in a respectful, inclusive environment where learning challenges (ADHD, dyslexia, mild autism, social anxieties) are accepted and embraced. We expertly guide our students along their academic journey, nurturing their innate thirst for knowledge and self-expression. We help them foster a sense of pride in their schoolwork and strive for academic excellence.

We believe that all students can succeed in school. We focus exclusively on helping students overcome learning challenges and our student body also includes teens with issues related to maturity, disorganization, anxiety or social stress.

We provide students with room to grow and explore, encouraging a sense of community and friendship. Our music, art and athletic programs, in addition to our many student clubs, allow students to develop their passions outside the classroom.

Centennial looks after the whole child. We understand that mental and emotional heath go hand in hand with academic and personal success.  We encourage conversation and inclusion, celebrate small achievements, all while providing a rigorous education.

Before attending Centennial Academy, I was going through a lot of pressure, mostly because of my schoolwork. I was very nervous before coming to Centennial. The first few days of school went by, and I was very surprised how I managed to fit in and get much better grades than I did at my other school. The teachers want you to succeed and they are much more inclined to help. The pressure I felt before was instantly gone, my grades were a lot better, and I was surprised how much I liked school.

From day one, I felt the learning environment change, with smaller classes and more attentive teachers. It wasn’t that the work was easier at Centennial; but, because of the way in which I was taught, it became easier to understand the material.

Centennial has really impacted my school life and in only positive ways. I am looking forward to ending Secondary 4 on a strong footing and, next year, succeeding at getting into a good CEGEP.

I spent all my high school years at Centennial, and I was so grateful for the small classes and the individualized attention. When I came to Centennial in grade seven, I was really insecure and not confident in myself or my academic abilities. Throughout my five years, I worked really hard and took advantage of the extra help that Centennial has available for their students and graduated on the honor roll! That was a huge accomplishment for me. I also had the most amazing teachers!
